What I loved about this walk in Offaly was the variety of landscapes we passed through. They were all different. All quiet, a mix of small roads, old laneways, forestry walks, upland bogs and riverbank paths.
Gilltown was another discovery. It was a beautiful 6km ramble with lots of varied scenery and some fantastic bird-life.
This 4.5km loop crossed rivers, skirted grand old houses and even passed a rare Irish pyramid.
